Send Your Mailing
(Note: You must be connected to the Internet to use the software)
The first time you open the software, you'll be told that it requires a registration key or it will only wok in demo mode. If you have not purchased, continue using the software in demo mode by clicking the "Close" Button.
To purchase an unlock code click here
Trial Limitations: In demo mode the software only allows you to send out 10 pieces of mail at a time. However, you may do as many separate mailings as you wish.
If you have already purchased the software and been issued an unlock code; go to main toolbar within EXP Elite, select "Help" on the and then click on "Register Software" and type your unlock code into the space Provided.
Step One: Internet Settings
NOTE: If you do not know your POP 3, SMTP or Newsgroup Settings, contact your ISP, or look in the information pack/email they sent you when you signed up. EXP Elite will not work with Commercial Proxy Servers like AOL, MSN, Prodigy, etc. You must connect to the Internet through a direct connection (a dial-up, DSL Line, ISDN line, T-1 connection, Cable modem, etc)
If you need to get a POP3 Email account of SMTP server here are 2 providers to try:
http://www.usermail.com/ - This POP3 service is free for 30 days. They offer you a POP3 account and SMTP mail server. The SMTP mail server will only send email that has @usermail.com in the subject. If you use usermail, your SMTP server name will be:
SMTP Server: secure.usermail.com
http://www.bluebottle.com/ - This service works like usermail, but it is free. Their SMTP server uses a username and password to send email. Because of this their service is slightly slower, but you can use any email address you want in the sender's address. Their settings would be:
SMTP Server: mail.bluebottle.com
Username: [Your username with bluebottle.com when you signed up]
Password: [Your Password]
1. Your first step is to configure your Internet settings before using the software. Do this, choose "Tools" and "Configure Mailer" within EXP Elite.

When you do this, the following screen will appear:

2. Now insert your SMTP Server Address (for example mail.yourdomain.com) in the box that says "SMTP Mail Server". Make sure the button next to this option is selected.
3. If your SMTP server uses authentication (like bluebottle.com), then select this option and enter your username and password.
4. Press the "Finish" button.
Step Two: Building Your List
EXP Elite gives you a variety of ways to add contacts to your lists:
How to Import Addresses:
NOTE: EXP Elite imports best from one address per line text files. If you don't see your file type on the list, try opening the file in its parent Program and "Exporting" it into a text file.
1. To import addresses from files and folders you currently have on your computer, choose the "Import Email Addresses" function from the "File" menu on your main toolbar.

2. Choose the type of file you are importing from and click on "Import"
3. Next, you'll be taken to a screen where you can browse through your computers hard drive to find the file that contains the addresses you wish to import. When you find the file or folder you want, click "OK".
4. The next screen will give you options on how to import the addresses.
a. If you are importing from a folder, you can check the "Import all addresses in this directory". EXP Elite will search that entire folder for addresses.
b. If you don't plan on using that file once you import it into the EXP Elite - click on "Delete file once imported" - we do not suggest using this function if you are a demo user.
c. Choose the list you would like the addresses to be added to - or - create a new list.
d. If you would like to remove all of the addresses contained on this list that also appear on your "Remove" list, check the "Filter against remove list" box
5. Then click "OK" and the addresses will be imported.
Type New Contacts into Your Lists:
You can type new contacts into your list by simply double clicking on a list or clicking on the "Build your Email List" from the EXP Elite Quick Start toolbar on the left side of your screen.
EXP Elite makes add email addresses easy. Just type in the email address, first and last name (if available) and press the "add" button. Alternatively, you can place your cursor in the first open field and begin typing. There's no need to press "save" - just add the addresses and their first and last name and close the list.

NOTE: Add Addresses in the box that starts with a * . After you add an address press the tab key until the * is on a new line below. Otherwise you address will not be saved.
Step Three: Managing Your Mailing List:
1. Filter Emails out of List - This tool will allow you to look for specific criteria in a list and remove it completely (e.g. look for and remove all addresses containing the word "Spam")
2. Filter list by Domains - Filter your list for specific domains and remove all addresses in those domains. (e.g. aol.com, yourdomain.com, etc)
3. Scrub Bad Emails From List - This feature will look up all of the addresses on your list to be sure that the domains are valid - lessening the number of undeliverable messages you'll get. This will remove domains that are entered incorrectly or that your customers misspell - for example: customer@extractropr.com instead of customer@extactorpro.com
Step Four: Send Your Mailing:
1. Choose the list you wish to mail to by clicking on it once (do not open it).
2. Click on the "Send an Email to your list" from the EXP Elite Quick Start toolbar on the left hand side of your screen.
3. Choose the mailing method you wish to use:

a. Send Email to the List: You leave the list selected here, or choose another one. You can select to mail to only new people (that you have not contacted with your email message), or email everyone. Finally you select to email only a portion of your list. This is great to test response rates of your message. It can also be good for a slow-roll-out of your website or product.
b. Sending a test message is great to see how your ad will look to recipients. It is also a good way to test if your SMTP settings are working correctly (people will receive your email message).
5. Press the "Next" button to create an Ad.

6. After you create your advertisement, press the "Save" Icon and save the message. The save Icon is listed below:
![]()
a. Fill in the From Address - the address where you want your replies directed to - this does not have to be the address that you have setup to have Reply Man check - it can be any address that you want to receive replies at.
b. Fill in the Subject Heading
c. Write your Ad - be sure to add carriage returns about every 50-60 characters so that your email is easy to read.
d. Add personalization by entering any of the codes listed in the "Available Merge Fields" window. To use these you must type in the code exactly as it is shown in the Mail-Merge Helper.

e. Compose your message in HTML, Plain Text, or both. EXP Elite will know what kind of message your recipients email program can read. For HTML messages there are many tools to make you message look more eye-catching.

f. Click on "Save"
to save the message.
g. Press the "Send"
